Is Corpus Christi a public holiday in Poland?
Yes. Corpus Christi is one of the public holidays in Poland (Act of 18 January 1951 on days free from work). Large shops are closed, because the trading ban applies on public holidays. Petrol stations and pharmacies, among others, can stay open.
Corpus Christi always falls on a Thursday, so taking leave on the Friday after it gives you four days off in a row, Thursday to Sunday. In 2026 that is 4-7 June, and in 2027 it is 27-30 May. For the other bridge days in the year, see the public holidays and long weekends calendar.
How is the date of Corpus Christi calculated?
Corpus Christi is the Thursday after Trinity Sunday, which is 60 days after Easter. For example, Easter 2026 is on 5 April, and 60 days later is 4 June. Corpus Christi falls between 21 May and 24 June.
The Gregorian algorithm that calculates Easter is described on the page When is Easter?.
