How to do it?
- 1.
Type your text
Type or paste text. All 24 styles appear below as you type, one per row.
- 2.
Pick a style
Scroll through bold, italic, script, gothic, double-struck, bubbles, squares, small caps, strikethrough, upside down and more.
- 3.
Decide on accents
If your text contains letters such as é, ü or ñ, choose whether to build them from combining marks or leave them in the normal font.
- 4.
Copy and paste
Click “Copy” next to the style and paste it into the app. No font installation needed.
How it works: letters swapped for Unicode characters
Instagram, TikTok, X and most other apps do not let you change fonts. The generator replaces each letter with a different Unicode character that looks like a styled letter. For example, “A” becomes U+1D400 “𝐀” from the Mathematical Alphanumeric Symbols block. Because these are ordinary characters, the style survives copy and paste into almost any text field.
Strikethrough, underline, double underline and slashed styles work differently: they keep your letters and add a combining character (for example U+0336 for strikethrough) after each one. Upside-down text maps letters to look-alikes such as ɐ, ǝ and ʎ and reverses the order so it reads correctly when the phone is turned around.
The 24 styles at a glance
| Style group | Example | Digits? |
|---|---|---|
| Bold, sans-serif, sans bold, monospace, double-struck | 𝐁𝐨𝐥𝐝 · 𝖲𝖺𝗇𝗌 · 𝙼𝚘𝚗𝚘 · 𝔻𝕠𝕦𝕓𝕝𝕖 | yes |
| Italic, bold italic, sans italic variants | 𝐼𝑡𝑎𝑙𝑖𝑐 · 𝑩𝒐𝒍𝒅 | no |
| Script, bold script | 𝒮𝒸𝓇𝒾𝓅𝓉 · 𝓢𝓬𝓻𝓲𝓹𝓽 | no |
| Gothic (Fraktur), bold Gothic | 𝔊𝔬𝔱𝔥𝔦𝔠 · 𝕲𝖔𝖙𝖍𝖎𝖈 | no |
| Bubbles, black bubbles | Ⓑⓤⓑⓑⓛⓔ · 🅑🅛🅐🅒🅚 | yes |
| Squares, black squares | 🄱🄾🅇 · 🅱🅾🆇 | no |
| Small caps, fullwidth, upside down | ꜱᴍᴀʟʟ · Wide · uʍop | fullwidth and upside down only |
| Strikethrough, underline, double underline, slashed | S̶t̶r̶i̶k̶e̶ | yes |
Characters a style does not cover (digits in script, punctuation, emoji) are left unchanged, so “Hello 2026!” in script keeps the plain “2026!”. Black bubbles and the square styles have capitals only, so lowercase letters are shown as capitals.
Accented letters
Unicode only has styled versions of the basic letters A-Z. Accented letters such as é, ü, ñ or the Polish ą and ł have no styled equivalents. By default the tool builds them from a styled base letter plus a combining accent (é → 𝐞 + ◌́); turn this off to keep accented letters in the regular font. Combined letters may look slightly uneven, especially in script and Gothic styles, because the accent is positioned by the app’s own font.
Where it works - and where to hold back
- Works well: Instagram bio and captions, TikTok bio, Facebook posts, X posts, Discord nicknames and messages, YouTube comments.
- May show boxes: older Android phones, some smart TVs and older Windows versions lack fonts for the rarer blocks; bold, italic and bubbles are the safest.
- Screen readers may read a styled letter as “mathematical bold capital A” or skip it entirely, so a caption written this way can be unreadable for blind users.
- Search: in-app search will not find a profile name or hashtag written in fancy letters. Hashtags in fancy text do not work as hashtags at all.
Keep styled text for accents, such as a single word or a heading. Write your name, business name, contact details and full captions in plain text. To check a bio length limit, use the character counter. It counts each styled letter once, while apps that count UTF-16 units count most styled letters as two.
